Tume expanded its seed drill collection

Tume Orion seed drill, presented at the Helsinki Farm Machinery Fair at autumn 2022, is a new 3 or 4 meter seed fertilizer that is always ISOBUS compatible. Basically, the machine is designed for traditional or lightly modified seed fertilization. However, Orion’s wide coulter weight range (20–125 kg) also enables you to sow directly into the stubble with a machine on soft soils. With the help of the optional accessory Cultipack cultivator, direct sowing is possible with even more versatile soil types.

Tume Orion’s strength is especially considered to be its coulters, which row spacing has been kept really spacious despite the row spacing of 12.5 cm. The profile of the double disc harrow is designed in such a way that it holds the working depth within itself, so that separate support wheels are not needed for measuring the working depth. On the other hand, the wide range of movement of the coulters enables the machine to successfully sow even on uneven seedbeds.
Tume’s machines are known for their adaptive roller wheels, which follow the ground well both in the field and on field roads. In Tume’s machines, the wheel set also always works as a seed furrow closure, so separate closing wheels are not needed. As a novelty, the Tume Orion can also be equipped with hydraulic suspension, which makes the machine exceptionally stable when driving on the road.

Tume Orion complements Tume’s current seeding collection well. At their narrowest, Tume seed drills can be found e.g. as an ATV-powered 1.5-meter seed drill and there are models up to the 4-meter Super Nova Combi (SNC) seed fertilizer. SNC has been known for several years for its electronic feed and precision cultivation features.
Super Nova Combi’s predecessor, Nova Combi, will be 20 years old this year. The Nova Combi is indeed the most important model in Tume’s history, especially in the export trade, which accounts for approx. 60% of new Tume machines. Nova Combi is still a popular machine in Finland as well and is a safe choice both technically and in terms of changes caused by future conditions for getting agricultural support.

Because Orion arrives on the market, the Tume Titan, which has been sold by Tume for approx. 10 years, will be removed from Tume’s collection. Titan has a very satisfied user base, so for the last manufacturing batch, Tume expects strong demand. Also, the traditional Jyräcombi (JC) rear wheel machine can still be found in Tume’s collection in both 3- and 4-meter lengths. The JC rear wheel machine is still ahead of its peers in terms of cost-effectiveness.
Directly from the factory – also used machines
Tume’s machines are sold directly from the factory. The exception is northern Finland, where machines are sold/maintained through Lakkapää agricultural and machine retail. Domestic manufacturers handle aftermarketing in distribution chains directly to end customers, so the direct sales organization has been found to be a very well-functioning and cost-effective solution. Thanks to it, Tume has also been able to have a selection of replacement machines. Tume used machines can be sold to the customer as factory renovated, in which case buying a used machine is guaranteed to be reliable.
