Orion

The expected new ISOBUS machine Tume Orion has combined features from Tume’s current seed drill models, resulting in a truly competitive and versatile model for different sowing conditions. Basically, the machine is intended for traditional or lightly modified seed fertilization. However, Orion’s wide coulter weight range (20–125 kg) also enables you to sow directly into the stubble on soft soils. With the help of the optional accessory Cultipack cultivator, direct seeding is possible with even more versatile types of soil.

Coulters

The biggest advantage of the machine is its wide frame with 12.5 cm row spacing. All of Orion’s soil-working parts rotate, so the machine’s structure is non-clogging and the traction resistance is among the lowest in its size class. Fuel is saved and the work goes smoothly even with a smaller tractor. In addition to this, coulter’s profile has been designed in such a way that it retains the working depth. As the working depth changes from two centimeters to six centimeters, coulter’s cross-sectional area in relation to the ground increases more than fourfold! Coulter pressure and thus the final working depth is determined by changing the height of the machine. The bottom limit of the machine can be adjusted as desired, so that the sowing depth does not get too deep. The special strength of the coulters comes from its geometry and trajectory, which enables successful sowing even after the most modest sowing treatment. When hitting an obstacle, the coulter goes up the rear slope well, and at the pothole, it drops down the front slope accordingly. After an obstacle or a pothole, the paddle returns to the adjusted position.

Support wheels

Tume Orion has a standard 20″ support wheel gear, which is the most adaptable on the market. It follows the ground surface and compacts the ground across the entire width of the machine, including obstacles and potholes. When driving on field roads, the machine does not wobble and our optional accessory, the hydraulic suspension of the wheels, guarantees the stable movement of the machine on uneven roads. The maintenance of the wheelset is easy and its large diameter guarantees that the so-called rafting phenomenon doesn’t occur in soft conditions. In Orion and all Tume rear-wheel machines, a transport wheel always follows the path of each sowing coulter, which at the same time acts as a seed row compactor. With this, we enable spacious coulter rows and a simpler coulter structure.

Even with maximum coulter pressure, we can guarantee a closing force of at least 40 kg to close the seed row. This is more than several separate pressure wheel solutions can offer to close the sowing row.

Hydraulic rear harrow

Tume Orion includes a hydraulic rear harrow as standard, which enables the semi-lift feature of the seed drill. The hydraulic rear harrow enables e.g. modification of the machine turn point to prevent siltation.

Hopper and step levels

Tume Orion’s tanks and step levels are familiar from Tume’s Super Nova Combi seed drill. The large liter volumes of the containers enable efficient work performance and sowing logistics. As standard, the tank comes with really safe and sturdy step levels and a self operating tarpaulin that rolls up in both directions, which brings not only safety but also comfort. Orion’s hopper also has four tank emptying valves developed by Tume, which essentially make emptying the machine easier.

Feeding equipment and ISOBUS user interface

Tume’s traditional feeding equipment has been very accurate throughout history. With the popularity of special fertilizers and liquid pickling of seeds in recent years, the location of the feeding equipment on the direct bottom of the tank has become Tume’s strength. With the help of the location, the drainage for the feeders remains good in all conditions, and in this case the feeder will definitely pass through what it needs to. Tume’s feeding equipment has won several tests conducted by impartial testers in sowing challenging seeding materials. The feed equipment takes its power from a large-rim ground wheel, so the degree of filling of the machine and the possible sag of the tires do not affect the feed quantities, and road driving does not stress the parts of the feed equipment.

Tume Orion is a standard ISOBUS machine. In practice, it means that it is possible to use the machine with the ISOBUS tractor’s own interfaces. Of course, the machine is also available with its own touchscreen user interface, with either a 7- or 12-inch screen size. The view of Orion user’s interface can be changed according to the driver’s needs. The view can be simple and easy-to-use or an entity containing a lot of data and adjustable things.
